.Workplace Health & Safety (WHS)
Manly Hydraulics Laboratory (MHL) operates within and theDepartment of Finance, Services and Innovation (DFSI)
WHS Policy and related WHS Management System (WHSMS). The senior management team are committed to ensuring the health,
safety and welfare of all employees and workplace visitors, including customers, agency staff and contractors.
MHL recognises that achieving a safe and healthy workplace relies on implementing a quality WHSMS that
is aimed at both preventing injuries and illnesses from occurring,
and actively supporting injury management and a timely and sustainable early return to work for injured or ill workers.
MHL's compliance with relevant WHS legislation, standards, codes of practice and guidelines is supported by the WHSMS, WHS Policy and related policies and procedures, including the Injury Management Policy;
the WHS responsibilities Procedure; and the WHS Consultation Procedure.
Safety Management System
MHL operates within a Workplace Health & Safety Management System that is certified by BSI to comply with AS/NZS 4801:2001 for the following scope:Within a strategic commissioning context, providing asset advisory services, project management, design and delivery of the state's built and natural environment and associated infrastructure including, engineering, architectural and related consulting services, facilities management, construction and heritage restoration services, water lifecycle management and environmental monitoring.
MHL's OHS certificate of registration.
The WHSMS is also accredited to the NSW Government WHS Management System Guidelines 4th Edition. A copy of the letter of accreditation may be obtained by contacting Arman Kusmanov.
