NSW Nearshore Wave Forecast Tool
The NSW Nearshore Wave Forecast tool provides transformed wave data based on offshore wave conditions from the NSW Waverider buoy network and NOAA WAVEWATCH III model. Data generation is automated and we do not guarantee the timeliness or accuracy of these results. The model is sponsored by OEH (NSW Office of Environment and Heritage) and produced by MHL and Baird Australia.
The NSW Nearshore Wave Transformation Toolbox is a web-based tool that enables the user to rapidly transform offshore wave conditions to the 10m and 30m depth contours along the entire NSW coastline. The toolbox has been developed by Baird Australia and the Manly Hydraulics Laboratory as part of the NSW Coastal Wave Model project, funded by the Office of Environment & Heritage.
The toolbox allows the user to visualise or extract nearshore wave conditions derived from either deep-water historical Waverider buoy or modelled hindcast data. Two transformation methods are available, parametric and spectral.
